Hi! I’m Lisa.
I named this blog five moves before my husband retired from the Army, but the name still fits. We’ve now settled in California and plan to stay for a while, but home is not a permanent concept in this life, even if we never change our address.
We are all nomads. Our permanent places await us in eternity.
My mission is to maintain the long view and encourage others to do the same.
For eight years, I’ve been inspired, delighted, and stretched through the privilege of teaching writing online to high school students. Thinking about their stream of words and what they need to work on to communicate more effectively has forced me to learn, grow, and become a stronger writer, but it hasn’t left much energy for my own writing. That’s about to change. The precious years of my homeschooling-mom journey are nearly over, and it’s time to get serious about what I want to do next. I think that’s writing. We’ll see!
In my heart, God comes first, and He has blessed me with a best friend for a husband, three big-hearted sons, and a giant Maso-Mastiff. The drool is real, and the love is deep in our house!
Thanks for stopping in, and I hope to see you back!
Lisa
